This sculpture was created during the GlogauAIR residency in Berlin amid the 2019 Chilean social uprising, known as the “Estallido Social”.

The movement began on October 18, 2019, initially sparked by student-led fare evasions in Santiago’s metro system. It quickly grew into an unprecedented nationwide protest against systemic inequality, the rising cost of living, and the privatization of essential services, becoming one of the most significant social movements in contemporary Chilean history.
